OFFICE OF THE DIRECTOR GENERAL

Office of the Director-General

The Office of the Director-General serves as the Secretariat of the Commission. It is headed by the Director General who runs the day-to-day affairs of the Commission. The Commission has Seven Departments as follows:

i. International Boundaries;
ii. Internal Boundaries;
iii. Maritime Boundaries;
iv. Research and Policy Analysis;
v. Finance and Accounts;
vi. Administration and Supplies; and
vii. Legal Services.

Units under the Office of the Director-General

Internal Audit Unit
As a Unit under office of the Director-General, its establishment is a constitutional mandate designed to provide a continuous and comprehensive audit of then accounts and records of funds of the commission.

Public Affairs Unit
This unit consists of the Information and Protocol sections and is headed by a Chief Administrative Officer.

Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit
The Unit was established in line with Federal Government Policy directives as contained in Circular Ref. No. OHCSF/MSO/192/94 dated 2nd October, 2001 which provides for the establishment of Anti-Corruption and Transparency Units in all Federal Government Ministries and Extra-Ministerial Departments, Agencies and parastatals.

Servicom Unit
This is a recently established Unit in the Office of the Director-General in consonance with the Federal Executive Council resolutions mandating the establishment of Ministerial SERVICOM Units (MSUs) in all Federal Government Establishments and Agencies in compliance with the public service Reforms Agenda. A directive to that effect was issued by the secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Ufot Ekaette on March 10, 2005.

Responsibilities of Units under the Director-General’s Office
– Internal Audit Unit: – Ensuring the efficiency and continuous audit of the accounts and records of revenue and expenditure of the Commission.
– Public Affairs Unit: – For All information about the Commission’s activities and the processing of Visas and other travel documents for official trips.
– Anti-Corruption &Transparency Unit: – for all information about transparency and anti-corruption crusade in the Commission.
– Servicom Unit: – For the provision of Efficient and quality service delivery systems in the Commission.
